Test Preparation

The number of standardized tests that an average college-bound student is expected to take has increased tremendously over the last twenty years.  A student's junior year can be particularly crowded, and it can be difficult to know which tests to take and when to take them.  At CCA, we can help you make these plans, based on the student's individual circumstances.

At CCA, we offer the following test preparation and tutoring services.

  • One-on-one and group classes for the SAT, ACT, & PSAT
  • Individual tutoring for the SAT II subject tests
  • Help with high school admission tests including the SSAT, HSPT, ISEE and TACHS
  • Individual academic help for high school math, science, history, and English
  • Study Skills workshops and individual tutoring
  • Other tutoring services on a case-by-case basis

  Individual PSAT/SAT/ACT Tutoring
Our approach to tutoring is highly personalized; we do not employ a one-size-fits-all system.  Each student is assessed and a plan is developed in accordance with college goals.

  SAT Class
Our SAT class meets regularly in the spring and fall before each of the major SAT administrations.  The class size is restricted to no more than 8 students per instructor.  During the final meeting, the students sit for a full length SAT which is scored while they work.

  PSAT Class
We offer a PSAT Class once a year before the regularly scheduled PSAT in the fall.  The class focuses on helping students to master the basic skills and strategies required to succeed on the test.

  ACT Class
We normally offer ACT classes twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.  The class includes a full-length administration of the test that is scored while the students work.

We regularly help students to prepare for all of these tests as well.
